  1. 1. Are you interested in a competitive team for the Call of Duty Division of UWS?

Trying to collect some information on who would be interested in a competitive team for Black Ops 4.

If we have enough players, then we could start doing things like Game Battles.

Same here man. I'm less reliable in terms of contributing to the score and more of a wildcard in that my K/D can go from 2.0+ one match to 0.17 the next. But usually, I'm decent about always pushing the objective. I'm definitely more of an alternate/B-team kinda dude.

Well from the looks of our first competitive match with the top ranking team in the ladder (of course we faced the #1 team for our first game 😑) we will need to practice.

We didn't do terrible, but we definitely need synchronization with each other and more planning involved for each map.

I'm hoping to get serious with competitive, seems like others will want to as well. I think everyone should have a chance to join, even if we need someone else to run a second team.

All competitive games are softcore games (Core) and not hardcore. That being said, anyone trying to get into competitive gamebattles should start playing softcore more and drop hardcore.

Yeah it seems like it's more strategy and planning than anything else.

And even if you went up against the highest ranked team, it gave you a sense of what to expect and maybe even some possible strategies and whatnot.

it'd be difficult to plan strategies against the best team especially if they're always playing together using teamwork and whatnot so in a sense their level of teamwork and snyc would be a goal since i don't think it will be as easy as creating strats against them

That is somewhat true, you would need to visualize the team you are going up against and see how they react during the match. The first round of a game is typically a feel of the opponent.

Teams typically uses the same strategy when pushing or defending going the same way every time in a map if it works for them if they are a less experienced team. More experienced teams have more strategies on pushing and defending.

There are strategies that can be created for defending and pushing, this would require research of each map and what are the common ways of defending/pushing on that map. We would take those common ways and create strategies around that for defending and pushing.

The basic thing that everyone should know is finding location of each member of the opposing team is best. Once their location is known, flanking is key not direct force from the front. Once the opponent loses your location, most of them start to panic and you will catch them off guard.

Yeah that makes sense. All in all it breaks down into communication and the actual chemistry of the team.

Alsp this might be more of an idealist thing but I think dedicated roles especially for games like SnD would be beneficial (like dedicated planter, guard, flanker, recon, etc.). It might be more of a reach but all I've seen of competitive FPS games comes from VGHS lol.

Not a bad idea, this would deff help in bigger games such as 3v3 - 6v6 games.

Once we have a solid and active competitive team, we can start things off and start planning. At the moment, we've all been off and on where we can't get a team ladder game going yet.

Yeah it seems like when there are enough people on to do gamebattles, nobody wants to do them or needs to practice in core before the actual battles.

Also what gamemodes are in competitive? /What's the one to expect the majority of the matches fo be? There's SnD, and hardpoint but is KC/TDM or Dom in it too?

That has been noticed, yes. Hopefully recruiting more and representing that we have competitive teams and some are willing to play competitive actively will bring in other competitive players.

Majority of competitive matches are SnD. They have hardpoint, SnD, TDM, Control, Heist, and random gamemodes picked. The most important thing is the settings variations.

There is GB (Gamebattles) variant and there is CWL (CoD World League) Variant.

Both set of rules are found on Gamebattles website and to be honest I prefer GB variant.

The majority of the games you will see SnD GB variant.

CWL SnD matches do come up but they are less active than SnD GB variant.

GB variant will not allow specialist weaponry and equipment which is the nice part about it since players are not relying on specialist weaponry/equipment as well as scorestreaks to win a game.

Yea, we still have competitive teams for the team ladder and doubles ladder.

At the moment we can not change rosters cause of the roster lock due to playoff brackets but I can certainly get you started on Gamebattles once you are online and I'm on as well.

Send me a PM on the forums and let me know what times you are usually on 👍
