Event details

alright guys this is just the test run to see how everything goes. like stated in the post in the members section, if everything goes alright and we have a good turnout, we will continue down the path of an actual campaign.

rules/guidelines:

- seeing as how both our DM's are new to the job, for this first session we will run basic pregen characters. (this will go away if we decide to run a real campaign.)

- we will be playing by the 5e ruleset put forth by WoTC.

- all characters will be starting at level 1.

- for pregen characters we have a little from each class, but there will be a restriction of (1) role per group. this will help stop a whole party running rogues. again, this is not for a true campaign. if we do a campaign, you are more then welcome to play whatever role you want.

- this will be a laidback session. were not going to be going hardcore into this. basic roleplaying when its appropriate for your PC (PC = player character). you can play as much in depth as you want, or none at all. its completely up to you. were here to have fun, but were not going to stick to a certain way to play. keeping it laid back will help everyone feel comfortable in whatever way they prefer to play the game.

- pregen characters will given out on a first come first serve basis. MAKE SURE TO SHOW UP EARLY IF YOU WANT YOUR PICK OF THE LITTER!

if you have questions feel free to ask. that's what I'm here for!

the test run subject will be the "lost mines of phandelvar" campaign. we will run the first 2 or 3 hours of this to give everyone a taste of what this game is all about. it will help intro new players, and update old players to the new mechanics. once weve rounded out this play time the last half hour to an hour will be discussions on how the players enjoyed it and feedback/questions about rules, combat, ect. a lot has changed between the different versions so it could be a bit confusing for older players used to different rulesets. at the end of all this, the party as a whole will be asked if they are willing to commit to this experience. with this game being so dependent on players themselves, we have to have a time commitment from players to continue. if  we do get a decent turn out, and plenty of people are commited, we will discuss which campaign we want to delve into. the options for campaigns will be posted below so you can research till your hearts content. I do ask though, to not look into these options too much. we want to keep the surprises in place till we know which option people prefer to run.

Do you guys happen to play Urealms at all? I play a fair bit of 5e standard/homebrew, but I've overheard that you offer Urealms as well.

I'm sorry to say, at this moment we do not offer urealms. this is our first venture into the tabletop gaming scene for us as a community.

That's fine. Urealms is more roleplay based, so I can see how many newcomers would try out standard D&D instead of it.
