Dear Escapers!

The installation of the patch has begun.

Installation will take from 30 to 60 minutes, at this time the game will not be available.

You can see the list of changes below.

Added:

  • Notification when placing the overpriced offer at the flea market

Optimization:

  • Several freezes fixes related to shooting

We plan to install the 0.11.2.1 hotfix for the Escape from Tarkov client and servers today. The game will not stop the game during this time.

List of changes:

- Fixed a minor bug of the influence of FoV on the sights

- Minor fix of ballistics settings of some doors

- Fixed glass elevators on the location "Laboratory", now AI cannot see through them.

Here are few answers from BSG COO Nikita for questions asked by a community member. Enjoy!

  • Will bullet velocity depend on actual rounds and not the weapon in the future?

Right now bullet velocity is an ammo parameter (you can see it in ammo chart). Weapon barrel can have an influence on it though.

  • When will subsonic ammo work?

In the next patches.

  • Will weapon barrel heat vision distortion be implemented?

Yes!

  • Will helmets ever revert back to realistic protection?

I don't think so. A full realistic approach in helmets will make them unuseful because they all will be the same level 1-2 protection. Nevertheless, helmet parameters are subject to change.

  • Are armor zones still planed? If yes, will they have realistic protection or will they be tweaked like helmets?

Armor zones are still planned. We want to make body armor realistic.

  •  More realistic movement inertia is planed?

We had inertia before - looked like additional lags or something.

  • The Bullet drop seems excessive for some rounds, will this be changed to realistic values?

Yes!

  • Will rigs like BlackRock and Avs be changed so they can store a realistic amount of magazines?

Yes!

  • Gun silencer durability? Will there be a difference between "wipe" and "chambers" silencer (durability vs performance)?

Yes, exactly everything you said.

  • Is personal sight zeroing still planed? As in: we will zero sights in our hideouts.

We would need to think about this one. 

  • Do SCAVs use hitscan or projectile mechanics or a combination of the two?

No hitscan. They shoot the same way as players do.

  • In the future, will labs be accessed from another map?

We will think about it. In the nearest future Labs access will be limited.

  • Is open world scraped or is there still a chance to see it in the distant future?

It's still on the track.

  • When will vodka be in the game and will it help with radiation poisoning?

Vodka will be in the game pretty soon. We just need to add drunk effect first. 

  • For the karma system to work we need a way to ID people. Will walkie-talkies, GPS devices, and maps help with that?

I didn't get how all the stuff you described are related to the karma system. And how they could help to ID people in general.

  • How long will heal time of dead PMC (0 HP) to full HP be when hideouts come?

 That is subject to testings. I don't think that it will be a long time. In a long time, I mean hours. 

  • How many PMC characters will we have when hideout comes?

Hmm...didn't get the question. Do you mean how many PMC character slots will be per account? When the hideout will be released it's still going to be one character per account.

  • What will DLC´s include?

New locations, new quests, new mechanics, new traders, events and so on.

  • Do you know how many shooter games are ruined for me because of Tarkov?

Oh, stop it!  :)

  • Addendum: As in, we will use GPS/map to radio our position over walkie-talkies to other players of our faction. Not directly tied to karma, but a system to make karma more viable.

Well, I guess so  :)

  • Addendum: At one point there was a rumor about 3 characters per account (obviously not true now that you answered). Will SCAV runs be our only "option" while we wait for our one PMC to heal?

Yes, its planned to have 3 characters on the account but it will be the whole profile in a profile thing. You will not be able to use them as switchable characters with a single stash. But, who knows. We will see!

About patch 0.11.5. We know that this is taking a bit long, sorry. Making some final internal testing, adding more bugs and fixing them. You know - it's a usual thing, especially when it comes to fixing some old and heavy problems - fixes generate other bugs..There will be updated patch notes soon. 0.11.5 is about fixes and optimizations and it's not meant, that there will be ALL wanted fixes and the game will run perfect. 0.11.7 will have fixes and optimizations too (and some of the new content). We did a pretty big job for you!

Dear Escapers!

We just started the installation of the 0.11.5.2821 hotfix.

The game will be stopped from 20 to 40 minutes.

 

You can see the list of changes below:

Graphics improvements: 

  • Improved quality and stability of the sun shadows 
  • Shadow presets settings are balanced by quality 
  • Adjusted the ranges of the shadow distance in the settings 
  • All shadow improvements are made with performance in mind, but in some cases the minimum change in fps is possible

Fixed:

  • Fixed a bug with the desync of the doors position on both client and server 
  • Fixed the information display of body part that your character was killed through in postmatch statistics. 
  • Fixed the problem of bots spawn on locations, the AI used to spawn in much smaller numbers than they should have
  • Fixed a bug allowing you to throw grenades through walls 
  • Fixed the area of the Resort on the Shoreline, swimming pools, which would hide most of the objects and characters 
  • Fixed a bug with items filtering at the flea market, incorrect items were displayed when bartering filter was turned off

  • Fixed a bug with the dogtags exchange at the flea market 
  • Fixed screen overlay bug when searching items through the flea market

 We created a summary of the "BSG: Behind the Beta" podcast that was hosted by Pestily on his channel, guests on the podcast were Nikita Buyanov and Veritas.

  • There were no leaks shared during the podcast, as Nikita said this podcast was focused on talking about the BattleState Games, Nikita and the things around the creation of the Escape From Tarkov
  • Developers are focused on fixes, during the podcast the 0.11.5.2821 hotfix was installed, all the issues are being addressed
  • The 0.11.7 patch is being prepared it will come with some content, new weapons and more fixes
  • 0.12 will be a very big patch, no exact date

 

  • Nikita always loved the games, like Half-Life and Counter strike, he was creating game modifications with his friend for many games, like Half-Life, Morrowind and Counter Strike, they even got invited by a company in Moscow to take part in game development, it was during the end of his mid-school, there were no schools teaching game development back then in Russia, Nikita learned it all by himself. Then Nikita had to go to the university to study, that is why he had a break in game development. After that Nikita started to work as a web designer, but he always wanted to create games, that is why he started to go in this direction, then the idea of Russia 2028 came up and Nikita together with his friend decided to create Contract Wars browser based FPS. They started to make this game in 5 man team from scratch, without any outside support.
  • Nikita’s dream is to create a big single player, story-driven, open world game with cinematics, because that is what Nikita always loved in games.
  • With Escape From Tarkov the whole team is still learning new things
  • Community is a really big part of Escape From Tarkov, team is listening to ideas from the community and discussing them, many features were invented thanks to the community
  • Developers have a solid vision for the Escape From Tarkov and are working towards it
     

 

  • Free roam mode is still planned for Escape From Tarkov, all the maps will be connected in one piece, it is a big and complex task for the Dev team
  • Nikita has a great expectations for the new Unity engine version, migration to the Unity 2018 is planned for the 0.12 patch
  • There will be graphical overhaul in the game before the release
  • There is a testing team that is testing the game features, then it comes to the game and is tested by the community, as Nikita said community is really big part in testing and every feedback/report is very helpful
  • As Nikita said, developers could give all the features to the players, but it wouldn’t be a really test, everything needs to be tested in a correct order
  • The next wipe will be in 0.11.7 patch, another wipe will come with the 0.12 patch
  • Nikita didn’t say no to the offline testing environment idea, but at the moment Developers are having other important priorities
  • There will be a shooting range in the hideout, also Developers are working on better sniper gameplay, Nikita talked also about an idea of going into a simulator through the laptop in the hideout, so for example you could test your rifles
  • BattleState Games team is around 100 people, in various departments
  • Nikita is playing Escape From Tarkov from time to time, but he will fully play it after release, as he said it is not an opened book for him yet, but he is watching many videos/streams and he is gathering information during it
  • Public bugtracker was also discussed, Nikita didn’t say no to it, but as he said it could be misunderstood and misused by some people
  • Steam audio is planned for the 0.12 patch, but it could be shifted
  • Developers team keeps working on a Anti-Cheat, it is constantly updated and it will be reinforced, fight with cheaters is a constant battle, there will be also a players report function soon

Dear Ecapers!

The installation of the hotfix 0.11.5.2856 has began.

It will take from 20 to 40 minutes - the game will be stopped for this time.

Fixed: 

  • Optimization of game servers, stabilizing their work 
  • Fixed display of warning about the high ping 
  • Broken scavs and players who used to walk by moonwalk, at an angle, with only their arms aimed normally 
  • Server and client door synchronization bug that could lead to the inability to kill the enemy through an invisible door 
  • Bug with the spawn of abnormal pink objects and pieces of equipment on the location 
  • Error 1514 which would not allow to buy an offer at the Flea Market 
  • Interface correction of time display, when selecting the time on the location "Factory" and switching to the "Laboratory", the other bug which allowed to choose the raid-time at the Lab has been fixed in the previous hotfix 
  • A bug which leads to the inability to see the dialog if the last message was sent by you 
  • Various minor bugs 
  • Various typos edits in the Russian localization of items
