Engine Errors

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else recently had problems with certain games giving error codes and ultimately causing a blue screen. It would mostly after being on Apex or Overwatch for  a bit. Essentially I assume my display drivers were crashing. The game would close giving me an engine error and I would attempt to restart resulting in a blue screen. Restarting my computer would temporarily fix it till it happened again. I forget what setting I fixed to stop the problem(It was Display something) but, I guess I just can't use the factory overclocked portion of my GPU now so I do loose a little performance. I'm assuming this is a Nvidia driver issue? Does anyone have an actual fix for this or have any idea what the actual problem is?

Another blue screen error I was getting was nvlddmkm.sys

It's almost certainly a driver issue with Nvidia. Try lowering you clock speeds a bit in afterburner, if that doesn't work then reinstall all your GPU/Nvidia drivers.

Do you have ingame overlays enabled? Discord, Overwolf, Origin etc?

Try disabling them and see if that fixes it. Also open Nvidia Control Panel, click Help at the top then Debug Mode, that will ignore the manufacturers OC and use the default factory. For some reason your GPU is stuttering/lagging/not responding for long enough that Windows disables it, the hard part is finding out why.
