The Drive or UNC Share you have selected does not exist or is not accessible

Recommended Posts

This is a fix for an issue i was running into trying to reinstall Escape from tarkov, after removing my SSD that contained EFT.

I would get an error message containing: "the-drive-or-unc-share-you-have-selected-does-not-exist-or-is-not-accessible"

Problem: there were traces of the game/files in my registry references. So it would try to install to my SSD even though it was removed, without giving me the option to change the directory.

After searching the web I found one way to fix the problem. It may not be the only way to fix the problem, but it worked for me.

Solution: I installed a program to delete the registry references, and any traces, for Eft. The program i used was Revo Uninstaller.  (this is not an ad, just one of many programs im sure)

                ~~~Run the program; find the application in the list; click the app; click uninstall at the top tool bar;("it will attempt to run the uninstaller" if it is the issue with a drive that was removed like mine, it will be unable to run the uninstaller); it will then ask to scan for traces; do advanced scan; Take a minute to review results and only select data that is for the program your having an issue with; Delete the data; Check recycling bin and make sure it is empty(not sure if i had random files from it before or after using revo).
                ~~~I had to do this for the game file application "escape from tarkov" AND for the launcher "Battlestate"

-After running the program twice for each location, i was able to reinstall Escape from Tarkov and choose the directory.

-I hope this helps anyone else unfortunate enough to run into this problem. Goodluck.
