Medication Help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around much at all lately, my health is not what it used to be and its only getting worse. I have Condition called CP (Chronic Pancreatitis), however slightly different from the normal issues you'd have. My pancreas doesn't and hasn't produced the enzyme that breaks down and absorbs nutrients  since 2010 and for the first few years I was insured and on the proper medication for it. Throughout the last 3 years I've gone back in forth in being insured which also resulted in me going back and forth on being on the medication that I need to have to continue living a semi-normal life(Being active, working). For the last year now I've not been able to be on my medication due to not being insured and not being able to afford my medication. (Medication costs are between $1400 and $1800 per month of prescription fill). I have been fighting with a lawyer as well trying to get my Denial on SSDI appealed, which is now coming up on 2 years since I originally filed and was denied for it. I Would like to ask the community if there are people willing to donate a gofundme account I have created to at least get my medication to hold me over for my court hearing for my SSDI appeal. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and as I have done with other communities I have shared this in, the left over funds from the Donations(assuming there is going to be some) will be going back into the communities that have donated to this fund.

Sorry to hear about your condition and current situation. But with your past and present circumstances, have you considered applying for Medicaid? Paying out of pocket is not going to be a sustainable treatment option.

Once i get my SSDI and SSI I will be signing up for an actual insurance plan, unfortunately medicaid only covers 40% of the cost of this drug which still leaves me with a 700$-900$ bill, and as it stands since i still have no income that 40% still wouldn't help much unless things such as this campaign happen often and succeed often

You might also be eligible for a patient assistance prescription program with a CREON prescription via https://www.abbvie.com/patients/patient-assistance.html - There's a section for people with similar circumstances that might be worth looking into.

Regardless, my thoughts go out to you. I hope you can find a more stable solution for your chronic pancreatitis.
