So on today's ATV, Disco Lando unveiled Star Citizen's newest concept ship, The Crusader Industries Hercules. I know some of us (Rifle) have been very interested to see a ship that can not only insert infantry into combat, but vehicles as well. As of right now, the Hercules is here to satisfy that interest. This ship will come with three main variants: the C2 Hauler, M2 Military Transport, and A2 Gunship.

1. C2 Hauler- The base hauler variant will be just the regular ship and comes with "4 unmanned turrets (one top, one bottom, one on each side)." This variant will have 624 SCU (Standard Cargo Units) which can be used to load up to two Tumbril Nova Tanks. The tanks can be loaded into the ship using ramps from either the front or rear section of the ship.

2. M2 Military Transport - The military transport variant seems to sacrifice a small amount of space in the cargo section to install an additional turret (possibly manned) under the nose of the ship (as seen below). It comes with 468 SCU that can be used to hold at least one Tumbril Tank and probably a Cyclone (It technically could fit the second tank but I think they're saying 2 tanks in the M2 will cause the ship to be "too heavy." (This is not confirmed, it may be able to hold 2 tanks, we'll have to wait and see))

3. A2 Gunship - The gunship variant sacrifices "half of its cargo" for the installation of four (4) S10 MOABs and sixty (60) S3 cluster bombs. It also features additional downward-facing turrets on the belly of the ship for maximum target saturation. It comes with 234 SCU, which can be used to fit a single tank. In total, the Gunship has two S4 pilot-controlled cannons, three S3 turrets, two S4 ballistic cannons, and two S5 remote-controlled cannons (that's a lot of firepower).

The full debut of the Hercules will be on May 11.

The concept prices are as follows: (Regular comes with 6 mo. insurance, while Warbond has lifetime insurance)

C2 - $360 ($300 Warbond) - 624 SCU

M2 - $480 ($400 Warbond) ((Warbond comes with a "free" Cyclone Buggy)) - 468 SCU

A2 - $700 ($600 Warbond) ((Warbond comes with a "free" Nova Tank)) - 234 SCU

Concierge can view the "early bird" sale here.

Everyone can check out a lore post introducing the Hercules into Star Citizen.

This variant will be able to carry "up to two Trumbil Tanks" which can be loaded into the ship using ramps from either the front or rear section of the ship.

3. A-2 Gunship - The gunship variant sacrifices "half of its cargo" for the installation of multiple (4) MOAB-like bombs and a large number of small bombs as well. It also features additional downward-facing turrets on the belly of the ship for maximum target saturation.

The concept sale for the Hercules will begin on May 11, following its full debut. The concept price is currently unknown, but I estimate it to be in the $325-$450 ballpark, given the size and role of the ship (don't hold me to it ;)). I will for sure be getting one because I have two tanks and need a way to reasonably transport them (other than putting them on the Idris).

It almost makes me want to melt or upgrade my retaliator, especially since we have so many. But since I have the drop ship module as well for it I'm going to resist.

I'd definitely wait for more info on that dropship module (and the 'Tali in general) before making a final decision. As the Retaliator stands, the people who use bomb bays only will get the most out of the ship imho. A dropship module on a ship as large as the Retaliator just sounds impractical when there are options like the Hoplite available.
